Concrene Announces Plans for First Graphene Reinforced Concrete Product to Hit Market

In July 2020, Thomas Swan signed an exclusive agency agreement with Concrene, for a graphene enhanced concrete project. Now, Concrene has announced that the first commercial graphene-reinforced concrete product will be available in the US market in April 2021.

Fairview Hearthside, a licensee of the innovative nanotechnology, will manufacture a range of Concrene factory-built fireplaces for private homes and professional outdoor locations. The fire pits offer increased durability, long outdoor performance and a natural concrete finish.

A small amount of Graphene, manufactured and supplied by Concrene’s strategic industrial partner, Thomas Swan, enhances the curing process of concrete, resulting in a direct volume offset of cement, binders and steel reinforcement.

Dr. Dimitar Dimov, Founder of Concrene, said, “I am delighted to see that Concrene has now moved beyond the trial phases and has successfully transitioned to full-scale manufacturing in the United States. By adopting Concrene, our customer Fairview Hearthside has demonstrated their confidence in our market-leading expertise and our patent-pending protected nanotechnology will enable them to quickly gain a significant market advantage.”

Michael Edwards, Commercial Director – Advanced Materials at Thomas Swan, said: “This is the first important step in our partnership with Concrene and we are delighted to offer a new product at Fairview Hearthside, using our graphene nanoplatelets at the scale of production. Following the success of our products in other application areas, this is our first in concrete and we are delighted to play a part in this new product launch.
